I use this to hold my 3 thick teak cutting board, mounted to the side of my refrigerator. It's sturdy, but because of the uneven surface of the fridge siding the adhesive isn't 100% in contact with the surface. So far it's held up without issue or detachment for 3+ months. If your surface is flat (tile, untextured drywall, cabinet, etc) it should be perfect! YMMV

After my kitchen reno, my husband will install this on a countertop to hold my daily usage cutting boards. Although it has great adhesive, he will screw it into the cabinetry. I selected this holder because: 1) it has 2 inches of space for my large boards, 2) the strong stainless has 2 supports, and 3) the supports have 4.25 inches of space between them, so my boards don't have to be totally centered to stay vertical. Additionally, it has that strong professional modern appeal I like to see in my kitchen. Love it, lots.
